Caddo-Bossier Parishes Port Commission to Hold Public Hearing On Rolling Forward Tax Millage Rate

SHREVEPORT/BOSSIER CITY, La. — The Caddo-Bossier Parishes Port Commission will hold a public hearing at its regular meeting on September 23, 2024 on rolling forward the tax millage it collects in both Caddo and Bossier Parishes. The meeting begins at 4:30pm in the boardroom, on the third floor of the Regional Commerce Center at 6000 Doug Attaway Boulevard in Shreveport.

The board will consider levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval or adopting the adjusted millage rates after reassessment and rolling forward to rates not to exceed the prior year’s maximum.

The total estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in the next year from the increased millage is $9,120,999, which is $5,686,563 from Caddo Parish and $3,434,436 from Bossier Parish. The amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase in Caddo Parish is $365,000 and in Bossier Parish is $220,405.
